Our focus is on food at The Food Crew – how food assists your health, and how it makes you feel. We often work with clients who have dietary requirements. All our menus are client-specific, working within their personal tastes and budgets. Having an in-depth knowledge of Cape Town and it’s best suppliers, from market producers to upmarket retailers, is key to creating flavoursome quality meals. We choose suppliers with ethical practices, and we strongly believe in resource and waste management.
As a personal chef, Joanne offers a relaxed family orientated solution to menu planning. Her favourite way of preparing meals is many different dishes set out for guests to choose what they most enjoy. A highlight in her career was cooking for vegan American actress, Kimberley Elise, during a month long film production in Cape Town. Joanne values family highly and enjoys watching guests spending entire days at their villa holiday accommodation, while she prepares the daily menu according to their personal preferences. Sometimes clients will require a catered special occasion dinner, or simply a dinner on arrival at their holiday villa – for this we can either cook at the venue, or do the prep at our own premises before we arrive to serve the meal (whichever is easier for the client).
The Food Crew’s catering experience includes various office catering jobs – from breakfast to corporate canapé functions. We have done canapé functions for up to 120 guests. We do drop off main meals for office lunches, as well as pre-packed lunches when required.
